The Lost Wife in Permafrost: recordings and progress
Find the three recordings in order and check what to do when the location objective stays incomplete.

Follow the recording order
Collect the recordings in order 1 → 2 → 3 when possible. Picking them up ahead of the quest can leave its location objective incomplete.
| Recording | Search area |
|---|---|
| 1 | Rat Queen’s Crossing |
| 2 | Solar Facility warehouse, near a blue desk |
| 3 | Room opposite the Power Plant, around the test dummy; check both rooms |
Use the building and room landmarks as well as any map marker.
Follow the journal between pickups
The quest moves through finding the location mentioned in a recording, finding a clue, asking someone about it, and visiting Frank’s workstation in Solar Fields before the final clue. Finish the active dialogue or location objective before jumping to the next recording.
All recordings owned, objective still stuck
This can be a quest-progress bug rather than a missing recording. Replaying an owned recording in the journal does not reliably repair the location stage.
The recording-listen changes for Hopes and Dreams should not be assumed to repair The Lost Wife. If your inventory contains all three recordings, check which journal objective remains active before searching the same rooms again.
