Use the church’s public bench

Yes, Plastic Junk can be processed. Take it to the public Dismantle Bench at the church. Look near the wooden side wall, arched windows, hymn board, shelving, and red toolbox.

You can use this bench before obtaining the blueprint for your own.

Recycle the junk

1. Press F to open the bench.
2. Put Plastic Junk into a recycling slot. Shift moves a whole stack; Alt lets you split a quantity.
3. Start recycling. The listed conversion is 1 Plastic Junk → 2 Processed Plastic.
4. Collect the finished output.

The bench has five recycling slots and can process jobs while you are away. With the panel open, output can enter your inventory automatically. If you closed the panel, return to the bench and use F to collect the finished items.

Check the item name

Plastic Junk is the input; Processed Plastic is the crafting material. Searching for a generic “process plastic” hand-crafting recipe will not find the recycling interaction.
