How to make Quality Metal in Permafrost
Smelt Iron Ingots and Scrap in a Professional Smelter to produce Quality Metal.

Use a Professional Smelter:

Select the recipe and craft the quantity you need. Ingredients are deducted when queued, and the output goes into your inventory. This recipe does not need fuel or a separate ignition step.
Get the right smelter
Check the outdoor reward box on Jeremiah’s table at the Crow’s Nest as you progress through his bunker and Moon Cult tasks. After learning the Professional Smelter blueprint, building the station costs 5 Iron Ingots.
A Makeshift Smelter is not a dependable substitute for this recipe. If Quality Metal is missing, check the station name before spending more resources.
Plan for Lunar clothing
The five-piece Lunar clothing set needs 12 Quality Metal in total. That requires 24 Iron Ingots and 24 Scrap, in addition to the materials used to build your smelter.
