Permafrost fast travel: recipe unlock and sledges

Unlock a post before travelling

Interact with a settlement’s fixed sledge to unlock it. Travel then works between posts you have already discovered.

Look for posts at New Horizons, the House Camp church, the Solar warehouse, the Crow’s Nest, and The Last Stand. Solar Fields is also used as an older location label. The warehouse and Crow’s Nest posts have moved during updates, so follow the interaction prompt rather than an old exact marker.

Where the craftable recipe comes from

The intended reward route is Finn’s reward box at the Improvised Radio Tower. Check the box after completing the relevant tower objective.

The craftable recipe can fail to appear even after this reward. Spending more blueprint points, repeatedly opening the box, or restarting a world is not a dependable repair. Use the fixed settlement posts while the recipe is missing.

Before a long trip

Unlock the post when you first arrive, check your destination is available, and finish local quest hand-ins before leaving. See the map guide for finding settlement markers.
